Renewable Energy Office Charlotte, NC
New office environment to encourage collaborative work within an open space. Design elements represent the wind and solar sources of energy.
Having a commitment to generate more renewable energy resources, this client decided to move their energy monitoring center to a larger site in downtown Charlotte. We assisted the client in creating their new space to meet very specific security, reliability and technological standards, and to communicate their sustainable mission throughout the design components of the new office.
The new space includes an access restricted 24/7 monitoring center, with a video display wall and adjustable stations on a rated raised-floor system. The other areas include an open office plan with natural light and private offices located at the core of the building. The space also offers multiple options and sizes for conference and meeting rooms. An open break area opens to an inviting and relaxing terrace. Despite the complexity in the installation for some of the architectural elements and the additional coordination needed in the construction administration phase, the end results fully captured the desired design concept of aesthetics, innovation and sustainability. This space was built in 2015.
